Commissions - Portraits, Documentary, Architectural
Your portrait session includes several integral parts, starting with getting to know a bit about you. I will photograph you in the environment you feel most defines you...in the office, your home or an appropriate environmental setting. Of course you may come to my home studio or my rental studio both located in Riverside, CA
As I shoot film for these more intimate and (I hope) artistic portraits, there are several steps involved to deliver a finely crafted and traditional B&W Silver Gelatin or Platinum print. Of course, if you prefer a simpler,or "quicker" images, I do utilize digital and you may search my commercial site for more information, or let me know your preference when you contact me.
A silver gelatin or hand coated platinum print is unsurpassed, even in these days of highly technical software for digital images.Proven longevity, and a difficult to define "presence".
To schedule a portrait session please use the contact form and be sure to include your contact info (phone and email)
Sessions start at $250 and up, print prices range from $150-$300. Mount and Matting included. Framing is also available.
Documentary and Architectural - I recently discovered the 4x5 negatives from my parents wedding, and though taken 56 yrs ago, they were well preserved and I was able to produce a softcover book in memory to them. I was also able to print in my darkroom silver gelatin prints on fiber art paper. How cool is that?
The point? In 50 yrs. I truly believe negatives/transparency film will be fully usable to reproduce images of "yesteryear". I seriously doubt most people will continue to upgrade to whatever digital format exist and hence I fear many family and historic images will be lost to the void forever.
Own a historic home or building? A vineyard or maybe an industrial complex? Capturing these in large format film is truly the ultimate in archival documentary photography.
Quotes and estimates are free, so send me an inquiry for a per project cost based on your needs.
Sometimes I want to try new things, depending on the person and their look. In this case, the young lady worked in a coffee shop at the time so after printing and selenium toning, I also gave the fiber print a "bath" in a tray of fresh hot coffee to get the coloring and stain.

Architects and Developers - Properly aligned (architecturally correct) building images to a more "artistic" slant...Let me capture the essence of your labors on film (or digital) for your portfolio and walls.
